An Alderley Edge bar and restaurant hosted the 18th birthday party of Kirsty Howard this week and raised nearly £7000 for her charity.

Kirsty was born with her heart back to front, which is an exceptionally rare condition that requires extensive treatment. In February 1999, she was given only six weeks to live, but defied the odds. Kirsty fronts The Kirsty Club campaign which aims to build a brighter future for Francis House Children’s Hospice where she receives care.

On Tuesday, 8th October, many friends and patrons of The Kirsty Club attended the event at The Bubble Room, including Susie Mathis and Sue Johnston, together with many regular customers of The Bubble Room, to help Kirsty celebrate her 18th birthday. Patron Andrea Bommer was amongst the guests, having travelled all the way from Germany to wish this a truly inspirational girl a happy birthday.

Music from ‘Rat Pack’ singer Edward Norris and Cousin William played throughout the evening. Magic tricks were performed by Matt Barker, the Naked Chocolatiers made delicious chocolates and the stunning birthday cake was provided by Cakes by Keri.

The Kirsty Club’s biggest supporter Mohamed Al Fayed donated Harrod’s bags containing a Harrod’s teddy bear, chocolate lollypop and sweets, which were sold on the evening.

Jane Mason said “”Thank you to everyone for coming along to support the event and to everyone who donated raffle and auction prizes enabling us to reach this fantastic total and thanks too to Harriet Hill from Cheshire Cat Events, Oliver Dunn, Aston Martin Wilmslow and Jo Scott-Aspray of Maia Photography.”

On the evening they raised £6,748.69 for The Kirsty Club. The Bubble Room still have a few Harrod’s bags available, each bag is only £10 and all monies will go straight to The Kirsty Club, and they are selling ‘Kirsty’s Cocktail’ until the end of the month, with 50p from every cocktail sold being donated to the charity.
